Quick, random post

I learned just now that the deadline for the partial documentation of USP is on July 29! OMG! All the while I thought it will be due on Aug 2! Tsk tsk tsk... we haven't started anything on that. *cries hysterically*

On a completely unrelated note...

Last weekend, we had over 5 dozen eggs at home! It was so many for us, we couldn't help but laugh about it. So one rainy, late night, me and my two brothers are lounging on the sofa, each of us doing one thing. Kuya suddenly said he's feeling hungry, while I just want to pass the time. Then our gaze shifted to the eggs in our kitchen, and both of us decided to make something out of those. So we opened Mama's recipe collection, and browsed through the pages looking for any dish that requires lots of eggs and is not that complicted to do. At last we found a recipe for brazo de mercedes, and we, being the "napabayaan sa kusina" kids that we are, divided the task and started to work. I will work on the custard filling, he will work on the meringue. It took us quite a lot of time and effort (not to mention the LPG to thicken the custard) before we were able to put it in the oven to bake. Since we lacked some ingredients *and improvised*, it didn't turn out the way we want it to. We put it in the fridge and agreed to have it for dessert the next day. And went to sleep.

Sooo, what happened to the cake? I believe it's still unfinished as I'm typing this, because we weren't able to beat the egg white to the desired consistency, so if not for the custard (which is not that sweet either) the whole thing tasted like eggs. Pure, unsalted, half-cooked eggs. But it's not a total waste. I'm sure it will vanish into our stomachs soon enough. *swallows hard* Yeah right.

(this will go to my "culinary disasters" list. teehee :P)

And another unrelated note...

Watched SONA last monday. Most of the time you'll hear the audience clapping than GMA saying something worthwhile. She said good things, though, like major improvements on most regions in terms of poverty and economy(if everything she said were the truth and not mere fabrications) and future plans for other regions. Since I was gifted with superb memory for facts like these, I couldn't remember which regions and what improvements/plans those are. Also, she was proud to say she accomplished her goals, and said things like, "if you want to renew old fights, we're game." Wow, such strong words. I hope she can live up to that when the challenge comes.

Finally...

I'm hopeful to post something relevant and happy soon enough. Good day to all and God bless! ^_^

EDIT: the docu was due on Aug2, not July29. We were able to pass ours, thankfully. *sigh of relief*

*hugs Kathie and Chrissa* yaan niyo matatapos ko rin 'to.Ü
