How is Calgary?

I am now in Calgary, State of Alberta, Canada.

Travel time took 13 hours (w/o waiting time), baggage weighed ~32kgs.

It's the start of summer here, locals are walking in shorty shorts and sleeveless tops, while I'm always wearing pants+long sleeves+jacket and still feel chilly. I already visited 2 groceries and 1 mall (Chinook Center) to buy toiletries I wasn't able to bring and is not supplied by the hotel. While going through rows and rows of goods, my mental powers was constantly at use (for converting to peso), but I have to stop at some point or else I won't be able to buy anything. Haha.

Today I tried the hotel's gym; I made use of the treadmill and burned enough calories to trade with the Twix chocolate I bought earlier. :D Afterwards, I did laundry and ironed some clothes. All's left is to fix my office bag, tidy my laptop, and I'll be set to work tomorrow.

Hope all will be well.

Wow, i forgot my blogger password... It must be that long, huh?
This was what I planned to post last month:

I finally got a passport!!! I have no plans of going anywhere, though, but the idea of me being able to go to Hong Kong or Singapore whenever I wish kinda excites me. Plus 10 points on my freedom! :D

And then what I plan to post this month: I'm going to Canada!!! Woohoo! Company-sponsored business/knowledge transfer trip. I'm leaving anytime between now and June, that is, if they grant me a visa.

X fingers!

EOS

"kasama ka na sa endangered online species e " ->
I was told by my friend today.

Am I that evasive? Well for one, its a no-no to use the office internet. Second, when I'm home, my siblings are "priority" when it comes to computer use. Third, I am face to face with a computer the whole day (or night, depends on my shift), so when my work is done, I wanna face something less, erm, bright (bright talaga?!).

Okay, now I'm trying to upload all my backlog pics. I'm hoping this will raise my visibilty a notch higher, and remove me from the EOS list. I will savor this moment of must-upload-backlog-pics, for I might go into hibernation again...

----------------

As for other significant updates, I went to Puerto Princessa last Nov 27!!!! I'm still in the process of uploading ALL pictures (mind you, I have gigs worth of it), so I will post another update when that is done. :)

Random Sites while video-converting

I was browsing through my stumbleupon account, when I stumbled upon this site: http://www.funonthenet.in/articles/pencil-artwork.html

Visitors' comments say they are amazed, and indeed the artworks are amazing, but I actually find it scary. Is it because of the spikes? Maybe. For example, this looks like one of the giant eating plants, mandrakes, found in video games:

and this one looks like an alien (or an alien tentacle):

Eew.

posted earlier @ around 1PM:
What's so special with Super (C) that I can't download it??!!
and yes I've enabled Javascript, cleared cache, added referrer and did not use a proxy!

Grrr...

~frustrated video converter and in need of sleep

after sleeping, I again tried a knack on this... then I decided to use Videora ipod converter instead (I was just hesitant to download the .net v2.0.5), and my videos are now converting.

Boo Super C!

Gifts Kids Love?

This early, I have started shopping Christmas gifts for my godchildren and young cousins/nieces. I already have 7 godchildren (1 boy, 6 girls) and could be 8 by November in case Daniel will add me in his daughter's list of ninangs. Daniel is my HS friend whom I met last week with Faith and Cherrie to visit his 1- month old daughter, Ayonna Nicole (side note: Ayo was almost named Danielle Ayonna Nicole, which is very close to Nikki's name :P).

So far, most of what I have bought are clothes for the babies and "beauty kit" for the toddlers. I was actually having fun browsing through my mom's catalogues looking for potential gifts. It made me remember the gifts I loved when I was young (dining set, barbie dolls, doctor's kit, etc) and sort of reminisce childhood. I want to give books, but I think that will have to wait a few more years. Also, popular gifts then may not be as popular today, and I think not all kids would love a book (unlike me when I was a child), and clothes are cliche, so this kinda toughens my search.

To my friends who are used to buying gifts for kids, can you give me any suggestions? :)

------------------
Same day as I met my HS friends, I also met my college friends, CWSO, to celebrate Tin and Tiyaw's birthdays. We had dinner at Cajun in Mega, then hung out at Roadhouse Grill in El Pueblo. Dinner and after-party are always filled with stories (and rants?) mostly from work. Phin's story is more interesting than anyone else's because she's a surveyor, while most of us are in IT. Also, we are wondering why there are no tv series related to IT, is it that un-interesting??
